Bayou Corne Sinkhole…… again…. another update!!

Well hopefully enough people from around here saw this and heard what was being said about it, to give a damn!! This report aired on our local new tonight it is a really good depiction of the sinkhole and the problems it has caused and continues to cause in Bayou Corne.

The article on the page goes into detail about the sinkhole. Thank you Katie Moore!!

Residents angry as Assumption sinkhole continues collapsing

One of those questions: What caused the cavern to collapse?

“The sinkhole is constantly changing. It changes every time we go out there. Not just on the surface, but in the sub-surface,” said Gary Hecox, a hydrogeologist with CB&I, formerly the Shaw Group, who is a consultant for the state about how to best handle the sinkhole.

He said it’s uncharted territory.

“The cavern was 3,400 feet deep, which is deeper than any known cavern failure impacting the surface in the international record,” Hecox said.

Nowhere in the world has a brine cavern this large collapsed, and Hecox said the data shows it’s not finished yet.

“We still have 450 feet to fill. How long is it gonna take to fill this up? At one foot per day, we’re still looking at an event that’s gonna run over a year,” he said.

Every time it shifts, recently installed seismic monitors pick up tremors like little earthquakes. When it does, big bubbles of natural gas, vegetation and crude oil are released to the surface. They call it a “burp”.

and continues

In October and November of 2012, Jindal announced two chemical plant expansions a few miles from Bayou Corne, one in nearby Geismar and one in Donaldsonville.

But in six months, he’s made no visit to the sinkhole site.

“Where is he? Where is Jindal? He’s all over the United States, but he can’t come forty minutes south of Baton Rouge and visit,” Weber asked.

As photos from the Louisiana Environmental Action Network show, when the sinkhole first appeared, it was just 400 feet in diameter. As of mid-February, it had swallowed nine acres.

Scientists say the worst-case scenario is it could swallow 40 acres.

Even if it does, many, like Weber, are now just hoping Texas Brine will buy them out so they can move on.

The company told residents that they are working to stabilize the area before tackling buy outs because some residents are still hoping to return.

Lawmakers are planning another joint hearing on the sinkhole March 18.

Bayou Corne Sinkhole~ Update 1/18/13

An update on the Bayou Corne sinkhole, it is still there and still growing.  It has been there since August 3, 2012 and Texas Brine has done a bunch of nothing for the families who were forced to evacuate on Aug 3. you can see just how close they live to the toxic sinkhole above, that small community of homes, are the people who were forced to move.  About 300 people. There aren’t too many people who live in Bayou Corne, so it isn’t a hot topic that people there are upset, they don’t decide elections :/

Which I think is exactly why, we need a Federal team in charge here!!! Local government doesn’t care, it isn’t worth their time or money to care so Texas Brine is in charge!

The latest flyover video shows, the sinkhole and how it’s grown: This flyover was on January 17, 2013

This flyover was on August 12,2012, oh my how it’s grown!!

This is the most recent Helicorder displays I could find, it seems it’s offline today:

The governor Bobby Jindal has either decided that Bayou Corne is not a part of Louisiana any more, or he is corrupted by money being fed into his office by the petroleum companies……. or ?? I have no idea. I think it’s quite possible corruption is at fault here, today the New Orleans former mayor was indited on 21 corruption charges, there’s lots of corruption in these parts, it would not surprise me if it the corruption has reached Jindal’s office!

bayou corne

I would think it would be important enough for Mr. Jindal to be there, or at least to have shown up to say hey I know what’s going on here, please stay calm. His office is just about 30-40 miles from the sinkhole!!  In the map above you can see he’s closer to the sinkhole than I am!! So far he has continued to ignore the plea for help, and I’m disappointed 😦  I liked Bobby Jindal, I thought he would be a good choice as a presidential pick, however I’m not so sure about that anymore!!

Bayou Corne Sinkhole~Update

Above you will see a picture of a protest, asking, begging Booby Jindal for his attention, I think he still ignored them BTW. I know there are only 3 people that this protest, but I also know not many people live there, and that many more people actually care!

Louisiana governor continues to ignore growing bayou sinkhole

Over five months since the Texas Brine sinkhole first appeared over the Napoleonville Salt Dome, residents of Bayou Corne, Louisiana continue to struggle to be heard — particularly by Governor Bobby Jindal.

As the 8.5 acre sinkhole continues to expand, a handful of evacuees recently attempted to remedy that situation by displaying signs along the Governor’s route to a nearby press conference. Unfortunately that request, like previous emails, phone calls and appointment appeals, went unanswered.

Giant Sinkhole Is Swallowing Up a Louisiana Bayou Community

Last spring, residents in Louisiana’s Assumption Parish noticed peculiar bubbles rising to the surface in some bayous. Soon after, small earthquakes shook the towns and raised some eyebrows. In August, i09 writes, the earth suddenly yawned open, swallowing several acres of swampy forest and forming a massive sinkhole full of water, brines, oil and natural gas. Geologists say nature did not cause the hole. Rather, mining activities conducted by the oil and gas service company Texas Brine opened up this apparent pit to hell.

The company, however, denies responsibility. The United States Geological Survey is investigating the incident and has determined that a salt cavern deep below the surface collapsed and caused the earthquake-like tremors, not the other way around. The collapse, they say, was likely brought about by extensive mining.

Booby Jindal stop ignoring these people!!!! Please go sign this petition, it only has until Feb 4th to get the required signatures! So far they are miles away from getting those signatures, they have as of right now 1,762 and need 23,238.

Recognize the sinkhole disaster in Bayou Corne, LA as a federal emergency, and assign a federal team to the efforts.

More than 52,000 gallons of crude oil has leaked out, and people have reported suffering symptoms related to crude exposure. Deadly H2S gas has been found, and there is approx 100 mil cubic ft of methane underground that is bubbling up all over the surrounding swamps, and bayous. Home methane monitors have been recommended. There is a 3 mil cubic yd void somewhere underground that has not been located. That’s equal to an 80 acre sinkhole 40 ft deep, or 100 football fields 40 ft deep. 150 homes/350 people have been evacuated from their homes since early August 2012. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for when they can return home, or have any kind of closure from this nightmare. This is not just a hole in the ground, and requires more resources than the state has at their disposal.

Camp Minden Explosion … Fireball…. Meteor or Underground Explosion? OR Coverup!!

Minden LA 11:30 PM October 15, 2012

This is the radar from last night in the Minden area, you can see the “debris field” on the radar. Click the image to make it “move”

Last night at around 11:30 PM witnesses saw something streak across the sky and then their houses shook and they heard an explosion.  I have been researching this all afternoon and find it interesting that at first they said it may have been a meteorite that fell from the sky, at 7 AM this morning they said no to the meteorite but that it was a planned explosion in an underground storage area for ammunition.

OK but the story smells really bad ….. since doing my research full articles about the “meteorite” have disappeared! All mentions of eyewitness accounts of what happened have gone AWOL also, I’m not sure what they are covering up, but it stinks!

This is a map I made, all locations they are all pretty much guessed at, but I think they are fairly close to all the areas mentioned, click on the image to make it bigger:

The report of fireballs falling from the sky came from God Like Productions  I marked on the map above the general area where this person was talking about

Dixie Floors had their windows blown out due to the explosion:

These pictures were taken from this site, which also calls BS on this “story”:

The explosion could be felt as far away as Barksdale AFB, and even Eastern Texas:

This very well could be an underground ammunition explosion but people who first reported it were saying they saw something coming DOWN, not anything going UP!! It also made me think of this, which I think may be in the same general area, I could be wrong but this was uploaded to youtube October 7, 2012, I don’t know what the sound is, but it does sound pretty freaky!

According to the uploader the sound gets worse and I can hear it does indeed get worse at about 5:20 into the video, and at around 5:37 the uploader said they could “feel the sound on their skin”. I have no idea if these two things are connected and they probably are NOT, but it is strange just the same!

Anyway here are some articles, I’ve collected this afternoon and into the evening about the event Northern Louisiana, particularly interesting is the comments sections of these articles where people say what they saw a heard, I have googled up and down and found NO FLYOVER PICS, No helicopter pics, NO PICS of the aftermath or anything at all:

There is also now a burn ban in the area: Burn Ban in Webster Parish

Here is another YouTube of news coverage:

They were supposed to have a news conference today about the event, however it was postponed and then CANCELLED with no explanation. They had no idea where the explosion came from until this morning, they say it’s because it’s in a remote area. Many of the people who saw what happened reported they saw something flying through the sky, like a meteor, not something coming up from underground. This is why I also call BS on the official story, an explosion that big that it could be seen on radar, and no one knew where it came from? People in the area all over saw something streak through the sky and then heard boom! Come on!! Tell us the REAL story!
Of course it could be a coincidence that a meteor did strike at the same time the underground facility exploded but I don’t buy it!

Bayou Corne Sinkhole ….again

This is more information on the Bayou Corne Sinkhole, it isn’t a lot because basically it just isn’t on our news down here, everything I know about the sinkhole is information I’ve found online!! I live about 55 miles away from the sinkhole give or take a few miles. I haven’t felt or heard anything where I live, so I have no first hand knowledge on anything sinkhole related.  Here is my previous post about the sinkhole:  Louisiana’s Sinkhole, Bayou Corne

I figured I would gather all the articles I found on the internet about the sinkhole into a place. so here it is.
The first one is about gas that is trapped under the ground:

An as-yet undetermined amount of natural gas is trapped in the aquifer underneath the Bayou Corne community, state and parish officials have said.

The area has been rattled by earth tremors, has waterways with gas bubbling to the surface, and is in the vicinity of a 4-acre sinkhole south of La. 70 that has grown larger since its emergence Aug. 3. Bayou Corne’s 150 households have been evacuated since the sinkhole appeared just off the edge of the Napoleonville Dome, a 1-mile-by-3-mile underground salt deposit.

The Mississippi River Alluvial Aquifer is a broad underground belt that tracks the river and flows beneath dozens of Louisiana parishes, but is not a continuously linked formation of ground water.

BAYOU CORNE — Cleanup of a sinkhole in northern Assumption Parish has been indefinitely halted after another section of land collapsed, pulling down at least five trees along the southwest side of the four-acre depression.

Parish officials told The Advocate a portion of the sinkhole edge, about 50-foot-long, went under Tuesday near pipeline corridors that run along the western edge of the slurry hole.

The sinkhole, which was found Aug. 3, is on Texas Brine Co. of Houston property south of La. 70 South between Grand Bayou and Bayou Corne. Parish officials evacuated 150 homes the day the sinkhole emerged. The evacuation remains in place.

Sinkhole Saga Continues: Toxic Air Reported as Drilling Progresses

The Earth continues to swallow trees as officials from Louisiana and a Texas energy company continue to seek s solution to the Assumption Parish sinkhole. About 11 a.m. today, a 10 ft. X 50 ft. slough pulled in five trees and halted cleanup activity at the site, according to a report from the Parish. The slurry area near Bayou Corne was discovered August 3 and continues to grow in both size and danger. Many people in the area are worried about methane deposits that may be ignited from a quake.

The area is still under a State of Emergency from the governor and the Parish Emergency has been extended to least October 14. Local Highway 70 is open for traffic but local residents are still under a mandatory evacuation

This is pretty much the same as the article above,I think most people just copy and paste these days, but it has a picture:

Gas found in Aquifer Previously:

The latest release of natural gas discovered in an underground aquifer near Bayou Corne may be the third time in the past 13 years that gas has been loosed in shallow formations over or near the subterranean Napoleonville salt dome, according to a review of regulatory filings.

A consulting hydrogeologist working in spring 2004 to finish removing natural gas that was then trapped 150 feet under the Grand Bayou area found gas had been released into the same subsurface aquifer at least five years earlier, regulatory filings with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality say.

Twenty-eight residents living in Grand Bayou had to be evacuated on Christmas Day in 2003 when gas was discovered in an underground aquifer above the Napoleonville Dome. Casing was found to have failed in a well tied to a storage cavern carved from the salt dome and leaked gas.

I’ve been watching this page too, it’s a link to Helicorders in the area: Recent Helicorder Displays From University of Memphis

This is why I’ve been following the Earthquakes in the area, last week in Lockport and Raceland LA, it’s about 45 miles away from the sinkhole site they reported earthquakes along with a “grinding” sound:

Mysterious tremors raise questions

Nobody quite knows what caused the ground in some parts of Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes to shake, but it certainly has people talking.

A little before 2 p.m. Wednesday, reports began flooding in to officials of tremors accompanied by a loud noise. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office and Office of Emergency Preparedness received reports, but nobody has been able to narrow down a cause.

Lockport resident Bryan Comardelle had just sat down to watch television when he felt the rumble.

“It was just a sudden vibration,” Comardelle said. “I live in a brick house, and it even made it shake.”

Most reports are fairly uniform: one to four tremors reported in the southern reaches of the parishes all the way up into Raceland and Houma. Some people reported hearing a loud noise similar to thunder accompanying the rumbling.

Bayou Corne Sinkhole Raises Concerns at Lake Peigneur:

A sinkhole in Assumption Parish is raising concerns in Acadiana. Crews are digging wells near a four-acre sinkhole beneath Bayou Corne. The wells are being sued to vent and investigate natural gas trapped below the salt brining facility.

Louisiana Senator Fred Mills said in light of this incident, he will try and take action to prevent a similar disaster from happening at the salt domes beneath Lake Peigneur. Mills said he plans to introduce a bill for the second time that would require companies to conduct an environmental impact statement before expanding natural gas storage caverns at Lake Peigneur. A similar bill failed in the last legislative session.

Residents at Lake Peigneur said such legislation would be a relief, but the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association said it would be a set back from the industry.

“This has been home for our family for generations and I’d like to preserve it,” said Lake Peigneur resident Louis Derise.

Derise sits on a wooden, raised deck overlooking the lake. It’s located on his own private peninsula that extends from his backyard. Derise said his father helped turn Lake Peigneur from an industrial lake to a recreational and residential lake. He’s worried that expanding natural gas storage would be an environmental and health risk.

“Some accidents are possible leakage of the storage cavern and it leaking into the aquifer,” said Derise.

The company AGL is proposing building two new storage caverns about a half mile from the shore, they would sit in front of the two storage caverns already built in the salt dome. Derise wants to stop further natural gas storage here, he’s now the Vice President of Save Lake Peigneur Inc.

This is a picture to give you an idea of how far apart these areas are:

So that is all for now, I’m sure we’ll be hearing more as there is propane and liquid butane stored not far from the sinkhole, and this sinkhole doesn’t appear to be slowing down or stopping!

If you haven’t already please sign this petition to appoint a FEDERAL team to the sinkhole, they still need lots of signatures, I don’t think online petitions ever really work but it couldn’t hurt. It seems no one is paying attention!!

Immediately appoint a federal team to assume control / management of the sinkhole disaster in Bayou Corne, LA.

The Earth cracking up? Isreal’s Red Line Drawn, and The Video people are saying caused the attack

First off we’ll go with the Earth, this is the best article about the “earth splitting up”, there are many out there but I think this is the best one, there are also links in it that lead you to other sources of information:

The sequence of huge earthquakes that struck off the coast of Sumatra in April may signal the creation of a new tectonic plate boundary.

Scientists give the assessment in this week’s Nature journal.

They say their analysis of the tremors – the biggest was a magnitude 8.7 – suggests major changes are taking place on the ocean floor that will eventually split the Indo-Australian plate in two.

It is not something that will happen soon; it could take millions of years.

“This is a process that probably started eight to 10 million years ago, so you can imagine how much longer it will take until we get a classic boundary,” said Matthias Delescluse from the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris.

You can read more here, it is about the big earthquake that happened in April of this year and the smaller but still significant aftershocks that happened all across the globe after that earthquake. They have re-classified the earthquake and made it an 8.7 that is a pretty big quake, but nobody felt it. How fast is this going to happen? I don’t know but I think we reached a critical “turning point” in April with that earthquake, they say it’s been happening for millions of years, but this is the first quake of this kind to happen in our recorded history. I don’t think half of the world is going to crack off, I just hope that it happens slowly that it breaks apart slowly, if it were to just rip open I don’t know what would happen to the world.  They say that larger earthquakes in the world are up in the past 5 years, I don’t know if that is necessarily true or not, I think we are pretty much on par with previous years.

This picture explains better than I can where the earthquake happened, where the earth is “splitting” etc. I took it from here. There is no way to know how much splitting has occurred or if it will in our lifetime ever completely split, if it finished splitting in April or anything like that, these plates are deep within the earth. This is something I will continue to watch, will be interesting whatever happens.

Next Netanyahu draws his “red line”:

LOL I find this funny! I don’t know if Iran is developing a nuclear bomb, and I don’t think it would be good for anyone anywhere in the world if they are indeed developing one, but this picture is funny to me! I wasn’t aware that Iran and Wile E. Coyote, and ACME were working together.

More seriously I do think Israel is going to attack Iran, I also don’t think the USA has any reason to be involved if/when they do it!  If Israel wants to play like a big boy, let them go out there and play but we don’t need to get involved. I also think Iran wants them to attack them first, then they have a reason to fight them, I won’t say which side I think is right, because basically I think they are both wrong!!

Netanyahu draws red line on Iran, asks world to do same

There is so much news out there right now about Iran/Israel/USA I’ll let you google it 😉

The attack on Christopher Stevens in Libya has been claimed by all the media to be about an anti-Muslim youtube video, I watched the video and have to say WHAT?? I don’t believe for a second that it had ANYTHING to do with the attack on him and his people, in fact I would like the time I spent watching that piece of garbage back!! The folowing video talks about why it was not the video at all that caused the attacks in the Middle East, it was a result of BLOWBACK!!

Blowback (intelligence)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Blowback is the espionage term for unintended consequences of a covert operation that are suffered by the civil population of the aggressor government. To the civilians suffering the blowback of covert operations, the effect typically manifests itself as “random” acts of political violence without a discernible, direct cause; because the public—in whose name the intelligence agency acted—are ignorant of the effected secret attacks that provoked revenge (counter-attack) against them.[1] Specifically, blowback denotes the resultant, violent consequences—reported as news fact, by domestic and international mass communications media, when the actor intelligence agency hides its responsibility via media manipulation. Generally, blowback loosely denotes every consequence of every aspect of a secret attack operation, thus, it is synonymous with consequence—the attacked victims’ revenge against the civil populace of the aggressor country, because the responsible politico-military leaders are invulnerable.

Here is the video I am talking about, it does a pretty good job of explaining why the people decided to attack:

February Tropical Storm?!!

Say what?? You heard that right, the National Hurricane Center is keeping it’s eye on an area of storms in the Gulf of Mexico!!

The area has already been called Invest 90L, and The Hurricane Center is watching it for possible development. Hurricanes and/or Tropical storms, form when the conditions are right and the water is hot, the water in the Gulf is at about 80 degrees so it’s at the threshold for storms forming! If this storm forms into something, it’ll be only the second storm to form in February, the first storm was the Groundhog Day storm of 1952, that tracked across Florida.

The calendar says it’s early February, but that is not stopping the tropics from trying to come alive in the south-central Gulf of Mexico.

The area of concern is a cluster of showers and thunderstorms spinning in the southern Gulf of Mexico, near the Yucatan Peninsula.

This rather weak area of low pressure has not only put the Hurricane Center on alert, but prompted the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Fla., to state, “this area is being closely monitored for possible further development.”

Tropical season in the Atlantic Basin is not confined to the months spanning June to November, but rather when the conditions are conducive.

Some of those key ingredients needed for the development of at least a subtropical depression (a system with partial tropical characteristics) are currently trying to come together in the south-central Gulf of Mexico.

Tropics Trying To Come Alive

So we shall see what comes of this! 2012 sure is starting off with a bang!

Fracking is BAD, but is it the cause of the strange sounds heard all around the world?

First of all I would urge you to please, please, please watch the movie “Gasland” it is a really good documentary about Hydraulic fracturing and it’s affects on the environment and people everywhere. It follows a journalist across the USA and documents the problems people who have allowed the gas companies to drill for Natural Gas on their land have come across. For instance this:

Water shouldn’t be flammable!! Anyway this guy isn’t the only one in the film who has problems with his water. Here is the trailer to the film:

What is fracking? Hydraulic fracturing is the way they get Natural Gas to come up from down below in the Earth, they inject millions of gallons of water and many harmful chemicals into the land, to break apart the rock and sands so it releases the gas.

Why ban fracking?

What is fracking? Gasland a film by Josh Fox

OK now that we have established that Fracking is a bad thing, let’s talk about the strange sounds heard all across the world. Could fracking be blamed for them? Well I don’t really know the answer to that question, but my guess is that yes, fracking can be blamed for at least some of the strange sounds! Here is a map of the places where fracking is allowed and does take place:

and here is a map with some of the strange sounds that have been heard all across the world:

Google Map

Looks like many of them are happening in places where fracking is allowed, not all of them are occurring where they are fracking, but some of them are. I think scientist or someone with more knowledge of this than myself needs to take a closer look at the sounds and their possible connection with fracking.

Some scientists have postulated that these strange sounds in the sky could have been created by “fracking”, rock bursts or the venting of high-pressure gas trapped deep within the Earth.  Any of those things can definitely produce noise, but it seems hard to believe that events such as those are responsible for all of the dozens of incidents that are being recorded all over the planet.

Strange Sounds

Others have said these sounds are warning from the Aliens, I don’t think I’d go there yet, I think the problem may be a little closer to home! Anyway here are a few videos of the strange sounds:

This was recorded in Louisiana

An unexplained rumbling disturbed hundreds of Windsor, Ont., residents this weekend to the extent that some thought it was an earthquake, prompting calls for Ottawa to step in.

Mysterious Noise escalates in Windsor

If you go to youtube and search for strange sounds you will find MANY more, although some of them are HOAXES, many of them are real.

We already know that fracking has and does cause earthquakes, here are a couple articles about it:

Youngstown, Ohio, had its 11th earthquake since St. Patrick’s Day on New Year’s Eve—a magnitude-4.0 on the Richter Scale, the highest to date.

My wife and I were in town visiting my 96-year-old grandmother and felt the mid-afternoon rattle shake the roof for five to 10 seconds.

What makes the minor rumble newsworthy is that until 2011, Youngstown had never had a recorded earthquake.

What changed? Fracking.

Youngstown Ohio

Recent earthquakes in Ohio and Oklahoma have been directly linked to deep wells used to dispose of liquid wastes for hydraulic fracturing or “fracking” of natural gas, according to geological experts.

Discovery News Fracking and Earthquakes

January 6, 2012. Youngstown, OH. When a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck Youngstown, Ohio on Christmas Eve, an area not known for earthquakes, the event put the national spotlight on something energy industry experts have known since the 1960’s – fracking probably causes earthquakes.

States knew fracking causes earthquakes

So not only are they causing many people to have rotten, nasty and flammable water, they are also the cause for earthquakes. Many places here in the US have had many earthquake “swarms” in the past couple years, this is directly linked to fracking for natural gas. Can we also blame the strange sounds heard all around the world on fracking?

Dimock,PA  Someone standing with water they get after allowing the Gas Company to frack their land!

Today the man who made Gasland Josh Fox was arrested on Capitol Hill after Republican Lawmakers said he was there filming illegally!! This makes me so angry! I hope he got it all on film and that his arrest will wake a few more people up to the dangers of fracking! Congress has been bought and paid for by the corporations that are doing the fracking!! I say all those that voted on his arrest should  immediately lose their jobs, but that is not going to happen. I also think that every member of our Government should wear suits like they do in NASCAR, telling us who is paying them to make the laws that they make, who is their “sponsors”.
